#10 in Encoding
3,505 downloads per month
Used in 63 crates (19 directly)
Another Rust Base58 codec implementation.
base58 this is significantly faster at decoding (about
2.4x as fast when decoding 32 bytes), almost the same speed for encoding
(about 3% slower when encoding 32 bytes), doesn't have the 128 byte
limitation and supports a configurable alphabet.
rust-base58 this is massively faster (over ten times as
fast when decoding 32 bytes, almost 40 times as fast when encoding 32
bytes), has no external dependencies and supports a configurable alphabet.
bs58 is currently targeted to compile back to Rust 1.13. This is guaranteed to
continue working until a non-(cargo)semver compatible update. Optional features
are excluded from this policy, they rely on dependencies that do not have such a
stable minimum version policy.
This project uses clippy and denies warnings in CI builds. To ensure your
changes will be accepted please check them with
cargo clippy (available via
rustup component add clippy-preview on nightly rust) before submitting a pull
request (along with
cargo test as usual).
The nightly date used in CI (and as a consequence, clippy version) is pinned in
.travis.yml to avoid breaking on new warning additions, feel free to
update to a new version anytime as part of a pull request.
